ABOUT
There are over 4.2 million professionally active nurses in the United States. Nurses are ideally positioned to understand policy and take health into account at the ballot box.

This idea motivated Dr. Elizabeth Cohn to start Nurses Who Vote. A Nurse Practitioner and professor of nursing, Dr. Cohn believes the profession of nursing should have a strong voice in United States politics.

Nurses Who Vote aims to be a comprehensive source for candidates' stances on political issues that effect health, including climate change, access to health care, food insecurity, safe housing, clean water, clear air, quality education, compassionate communities, and socioeconomic equality.

Dr. Cohn is the Rudin Professor of Community Health at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing and can be reached at elizabeth.cohn@hunter.cuny.edu
